Managing director of the Iranian Central Oilfields Company said that Iran has started developing four new gas fields in the country which would raise gas output capacity in the west of Iran.
Speaking to Mehr News Agency, Mehdi Fakour referred to the latest development of Tang-e-bijar gas field and said at present the field has the capacity of 10 million cubic meters of gas a day in the west of Iran.
"Processing capacity of Illam refinery doesn’t exceed 6.8 million cubic meters a day", said Fakour reiterating development plan of the second phase of Illam refinery with the capacity of 10 million cubic meters of gas will soon be carried out.
Elsewhere in his remarks he hinted at the operation of developing 4 new gas fields in Fars province and said development plan of Halegan, Sefid Zakhor, Day and Sefid Baghon would soon begin.
On Day and Sefid Zakhor gas field development plan after tender-holding he said early production plan from the two fields is on the agenda.
"Two phases have been defined to develop Day and Sefid Zakhor gas fields costing 370 million dollar", Fakour continued.
On Helagan and Sefid Baghon gas fields he said development plan of the fields is under basic studies and once the two fields are fully inaugurated, gas output capacity of Iran would rise by 50 million cubic meters a day.
