The length of Iranian gas pipeline network has hit 214 thousand kilometers, the manager of gas supply services at the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) said.
Addressing the rotating meetings of senior oil officials with journalists, the NIGCís official, Mostafa Sheikh Bahaie told the meeting that during the last Iranian calendar year 22 thousand kilometers of gas pipeline constructed across the country indicating 33 percent growth in comparison to a year earlier figures which hit 16 thousand kilometers.
Joining 1.394 million new subscribers to gas supply services in last year implying 17 percent growth in comparison to a year earlier the official said adding NIGC supplies gas to 14.8 million subscribers across the country.
Referring to gas imports and exports balance NIGC official noted that gas imports climbed to 30 million cubic meters per day last year up from 24 million cubic meters per day in its previous year while gas exports volume reached to 25.9 million cubic meters per day up by 11.7 percent year on year.
NIGC will extend supplying gas to 1.000 villages and 20 towns this year, the official said adding the companyís services cover 913 towns and cities and 12.220 villages.
Referring to the Supreme Leaderís remarks in the advent on new year, Sheikh Bahaie noted that NIGC will try to provide better services to different sectors in current year.
On efforts have been made to localize gas tools and equipments, he said that currently 90 percent of pipelines are being constructed at home while turbine manufacturing has progressed by 60 percent.
According to the official mass production of ultrasonic counters, counter facilitators and leak find machines are on the NIGCís this year agenda.
