Offshore China Blocks Available for Foreign Cooperation

In 2012, the second batch of 26 Blocks covering an area of 73,754 km2 are available for cooperation between CNOOC and foreign companies.

1) 1 Block in Bohai Bay

• Block 05/31

Block 05/31 lies in the boundary of Qikou Sag and Nanpu sag of the West of Bohai Bay basin,with a water depth ranging from 5m to 15m and covering an area of 270km2. Up to now, there are 928 km of 2D and 12 km2 3D seismic data in the block, 4 wells were drilled in the block.

2) 3 Blocks in East China Sea

• Block 32/36

Block 32/36 lies in Lingfeng buried hill structure belt of Lishui Sag of East China Sea basin, with a water depth ranging from 80m to 100m and covering an area of 501km2. Up to now, there are1000 km of 2D and 90 km2 3D seismic data in the block, 4 wells were drilled in the block.

• Block 41/08

Block 41/08 lies in the south of Lishui Sag of East China Sea basin,with a water depth ranging from 80m to 100m and covering an area of 2381km2. Up to now, there are 4204 km of 2D seismic data in the block, no well was drilled in the block.

• Block 33/02

Block 33/02 lies in Lishui Sag and Jiaojiang sag of East China Sea basin,with a water depth ranging from 80m to 100m and covering an area of 1778km2. Up to now, there are 6329 km of 2D and 325 km2 3D seismic data in the block, 2 well were drilled in the block.

3) 18 Blocks in theEast of South China Sea

(1) 5 deeper layer blocks

• Block 27/10

Block 27/10 lies in Enping Sag of Pearl River Mouth Basin, with a water depth ranging from 70m to 110m and covering an area of 4257km2. Up to now, there are 17350km of 2D and 1800km2 of 3D seismic data in the block. 16 wells were drilled in the block.

The open layer of Block 27/10 is below T70 (including T70).

• Block 28/04

Block 28/04 lies in Panyu Sag 4 of Pearl River Mouth Basin, with a water depth ranging from 90m to 120m and covering an area of 1049km2. Up to now, there are 2046km of 2D and 1005km2 of 3D seismic data in the block. 13 wells were drilled in the block.

The open layer of Block 28/04 is below T70 (including T70).

• Block 15/26

Block 15/26 lies in Xijiang Sag of Pearl River Mouth Basin, with a water depth ranging from 70m to 85m and covering an area of 1501km2. Up to now, there are 6383km of 2D and 773km2 of 3D seismic data in the block. 4 wells were drilled in the block.

The open layer of Block 15/26 is below T70 (including T70).

• Block 16/03

Block 16/03 lies in Huizhou Northern Sag of Pearl River Mouth Basin, with a water depth ranging from 90m to 100m and covering an area of 2323km2. Up to now, there are 8452km of 2D and 1356km2 of 3D seismic data in the block. 7 wells were drilled in the block.

The open layer of Block 16/03 is below T70 (including T70).

• Block 16/15

Block 16/15 lies in Huizhou Southern Sag of Pearl River Mouth Basin, with a water depth ranging from 100m to 150m and covering an area of 1952km2. Up to now, there are 5930km of 2D and 946km2 of 3D seismic data in the block. 3 wells were drilled in the block.

The open layer of Block 16/15 is below T70 (including T70).

(2) 5 single structure blocks

• HZ27-3 Structure

HZ27-3 lies in Huizhou Sag of Pearl River Mouth Basin, with a water depth of 100m and covering an area of 24km2. Up to now, there is a full coverage of 3D seismic data in the block. 3 wells were drilled in the block.

• XJ24-5 Structure

XJ24-5 lies in Xijiang Sag of Pearl River Mouth Basin, with a water depth of 100m and covering an area of 5km2. Up to now, there is a full coverage of 3D seismic data in the block. 1 well was drilled in the block.

• XJ24-4 Structure

XJ24-4 lies in Xijiang Sag of Pearl River Mouth Basin, with a water depth of 90m and covering an area of 7km2. Up to now, there is a full coverage of 3D seismic data in the block. 1 well was drilled in the block.

• PY10-4 Structure

PY10-4 lies in Panyu Sag 4 of Pearl River Mouth Basin, with a water depth of 200m and covering an area of 68km2. Up to now, there is a full coverage of 3D seismic data in the block. 3 well were drilled in the block.

• PY3-1 Structure

PY3-1 lies in Panyu Sag 4 of Pearl River Mouth Basin, with a water depth of 200m and covering an area of 60km2. Up to now, there is a full coverage of 3D seismic data in the block. 2 well were drilled in the block.

(3) 3 deep water blocks

• Block 55/03

Block 55/03 lies in Southern Massif Belt of Pearl River Mouth Basin, with a water depth ranging from 700m to 2000m and covering an area of 6009km2. Up to now, there are 3280km of 2D seismic data in the block. No well was drilled in the block.

• Block 55/12

Block 55/12 lies in Heshan and Changchang Depression of Pearl River Mouth Basin, with a water depth ranging from 1500m to 3000m and covering an area of3990km2. Up to now, there are 2454km of 2D seismic data in the block. No well was drilled in the block.

• Block 44/07

Block 44/07 lies in Xingning Sag of Pearl River Mouth Basin, with a water depth ranging from 1500m to 3000m and covering an area of 5366km2. Up to now, there are 2165km of 2D seismic data in the block. No well was drilled in the block.

(4) 5 conventional shallow water blocks

• Block 04/20

Block 04/20 lies in Haifeng Sag of Pearl River Mouth Basin, with a water depth ranging from 50m to 100m and covering an area of 5138km2. Up to now, there are 2171km of 2D seismic data in the block. 4 wells were drilled in the block.

• Block 05/04

Block 05/04 lies in Hanjiang Sag of Pearl River Mouth Basin, with a water depth ranging from 50m to 100m and covering an area of 9677km2. Up to now, there are 4189km of 2D seismic data in the block. 2 wells were drilled in the block.

• Block 17/03

Block 17/03 lies in Lufeng Sag of Pearl River Mouth Basin, with a water depth ranging from 50m to 100m and covering an area of 7686km2. Up to now, there are 6220km of 2D and 295km2 of 3D seismic data in the block. 2 wells were drilled in the block.

• Block 30/01

Block 30/01 lies in Dongsha Massif and Chaoshan Depression of Pearl River Mouth Basin, with a water depth ranging from 500m to 700m and covering an area of 5102km2. Up to now, there are 2602km of 2D seismic data in the block. No well was drilled in the block.

• Block 26/18

Block 26/18 lies in Yangjiang Sag of Pearl River Mouth Basin, with a water depth ranging from 100m to 200m and covering an area of 3235km2. Up to now, there are 6558km of 2D and 688km2 of 3D seismic data in the block. 3 wells were drilled in the block.

5) 4 Blocks in the West of South China Sea

• Block 52/26

Block 52/26 lies in Songxi sag and Songtao uplift of Qiongdongnan Basin, with a water depth ranging from 80m to 160m and covering an area of 1,766 km2. Up to now, there are 5043km of 2D seismic data in the block. 4 wells were drilled ,gas and oil were discovered in the block.

• Block 53/26

Block 53/26 lies in the central Baodao sag of Qiongdongnan Basin, with a water depth ranging from 300m to 2200m(most part deeper than 500m) and covering an area of 1,832 km2. Up to now, there are 5499km of 2D seismic data in the block. No well was drilled in the block.

• Block 65/12

Block65/12 lies in Changchang sag ,Beijiao Uplift and Yongle Uplift of Qiongdongnan Basin, with a water depth ranging from 700m to 2200m and covering an area of 5,855 km2. Up to now, there are 1431 km of 2D seismic data in the block. No well was drilled in the block.

• Block 50/34

Block 50/34 lies in the Southeastern slope of Yinggehai Basin and western Yabei sag of Qiongdongnan Basin, with a water depth ranging from 40m to 90m and covering an area of 1922 km2. Up to now, there are 5123 km of 2D seismic data in the block. 6 wells were drilled, gas and oil were discovered in the block.
