A certification environmental audit has been successfully carried out at the Nizhnekamsk SSC Tire Factory of the JSC TATNEFT’s petrochemical complex.
The results of checks carried out by experts of the JSC "Republican Certification Methodological Center "Test-Tatarstan" (OS ISM TatSert, Kazan) and "Test-St.-Petersburg" demonstrated that the environmental management system complied with the requirements of GOST R ISO 14001:2007 (ISO 14001:2004). The Commission considers it possible to issue a conformity certificate for a period of 3 years.
The experts of certification centers performed verification of the company’s activity organization for the environmental protection and control over the content of hazardous substances at the production facilities and the surrounding areas. Such important aspects as implementation of goals and challenges arising from the Environmental Management System (EMS) Policy and EMS Program, execution of procedures providing for the system functioning, legal requirements, requirements of stakeholders (consumers, society); evaluation of the system performance efficiency in achieving the preset objectives; identification of areas of possible system improvement were subjected to verification.
The audit scope also included the condition of structures, treating and cleaning systems, taking into account environmental considerations in the tires design process and many other aspects. The audit also assessed the activities aimed at prevention of emergencies.
