Leading international subsea equipment solutions specialist Ashtead Technology Offshore announces that it has appointed an agent in the Middle East to support its continuing global expansion.

The Aberdeen-headquartered company has completed an agreement with Abu Dhabi-based Technical Equipment Services (TES) who will promote Ashtead Technology’s full rental equipment range to its customers in the region. Ashtead Technology has provided TES with an initial US$4m assignment of subsea rental equipment, which will be backed up by the company’s worldwide customer and technical support resources. TES will also provide in-house service and repairs, as well as engineering capabilities to assist during equipment mobilization to provide customers with a complete local subsea solutions package.

Ashtead Technology Chief Executive Allan Pirie said: “This agreement greatly strengthens Ashtead Technology’s global offering. Working closely with a well-positioned Middle East partner that has an established reputation for quality service and support means that we can offer a more responsive and flexible local service to both existing and new Middle East based customers. With resources already in place we are geared for significant growth in the region”.

TES Chief Executive Susan Murray commented: "We are delighted to be working with Ashtead Technology - our established presence and understanding of the Middle East market coupled with Ashtead Technology’s renowned subsea equipment capabilities and reputation for excellent customer service will allow us to provide a superior service in the Middle East region.”

The appointment comes as part of the company’s global expansion strategy, which has also seen Ashtead Technology strengthen its presence in Singapore with a new facility and key management appointments earlier in 2012.

Ashtead Technology has three fully serviced offshore supply facilities located in Aberdeen, Houston and Singapore as well as additional full service agents in Norway and Australia. The company’s Aberdeen operation recently moved to new state of the art premises on the outskirts of the city in the subsea center of Westhill, with the expanded space offering services including rental equipment, calibration, repair and maintenance, offshore personnel and bespoke engineered solutions to support its growth and further strengthen its customer offering in the EMEA region.
