Survalent Technology, the most trusted provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced that it has commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for Utilities Kingston, Ontario. Utilities Kingston (UK) in Ontario, combines water, sewer, gas, and electrical services, as well as, broadband fiber optics. UK has provided the residents of Kingston utility services for more than 100 years, providing water supply to 36,000 customers, gas services to nearly 14,000 customers, and electricity distribution services to 27,000 customers.
The new system features Survalent’s highly available, open-architecture system based on Windows Server 2008. It includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: WorldView, SCADA Explorer, Event Data Recorder, Remote Alarm Annunciation, External Alarm Clock, System Configuration Status, SCADA Replicator, WebSurv, Mulit-Speak, AMI Interface, and OPC Client.
