Fluor Corporation announced that it has been awarded the front-end engineering and design services for the Habshan Gas Complex Expansion project by one of the largest gas processing companies in the world.
Under the terms of the $10 million Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Limited (GASCO) contract, Fluor will design facilities to increase the gas processing and re-injection capacity at the existing gas complex in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The project will include a review of existing information facilities, modeling simulation and optimization.
The expansion calls for the construction of a 350 million-cubic-feet-per-day train at the Habshan complex; installation of a low-pressure booster compressor; a gas pipeline from the Bab oil field to Habshan; a new acid gas removal unit; a new natural gas liquids (NGL) unit; an NGL pipeline and a high-pressure gas pipeline to Habshan from the Abu Dhabi Company For Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO) oil field at Bu Hasa. A re-injection compressor unit at Habshan will supply ADCO with gas for re-injection to the Bab Field.
Expansion of the Habshan Complex is required to meet increased onshore crude oil production in the Bab fields by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, GASCO's parent company.
Fluor's Camberley, England, office is executing the work, which is estimated to be complete in September 2004.

Fluor previously announced last fall the award of an engineering, procurement and construction contract by GASCO to maximize ethane recovery at the Habshan site.
