China International Offshore Oil & Gas Technology Conference & Exhibition 2013-Closed Successfully

During October 10-12, China (Beijing) InternationalOffshore Oil & Gas Technology Conference and Exhibition 2013 (CIOTC 2013) was held in Beijing. It was guided by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China and National Energy Administration, jointly hosted by China Petroleum Society, China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry, China Council for the Promotion of Nationalities Trade and Enerxy AG, organized by China Petroleum & Petrochemical Equipment Industry Association, and undertaken by BMC China Exhibition Co., Ltd. The three-day exhibition attracted 225 exhibitors from 16 countries and regions and over 17, 000 professional visitors from around the world. As global oil & gas development enters the era of offshore, to increase localization of China’s offshore oil & gas development technology and equipment, it’s inevitable to strengthen communication, cooperation and trade with global oil & gas industry. Focusing on latest technology and industry information in global offshore oil & gas industry, CIOTC 2013 offered an international communication platform for global oil & gas enterprises. With a wide variety of highlights, CIOTC 2013 was favorably received by participating manufacturers.

Highlight 1: High Standard, Highly Professional, Prominence to International Influence
CIOTC 2013 is the only exhibition that features strategic cooperation of three major oil corporations in China and enjoys in-depth participation of all leading enterprises in the offshore oil & gas industry. It’s second to none among relevant exhibitions in China, and enjoyed great support of exhibitors and participating delegates. CIOTS attracted world-leading petroleum equipment manufacturers and service providers including SINOPEC, CNOOC, Technip, China State Shipbuilding Corporation, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, CIMC RAFFLES, COSCO Shipyard, Baoshan Iron & Steel, , Kobe Steel, China Classification Society, CNPC Baoji Oilfield Machinery Co., Ltd. and Honghua Group. Among them, German exhibition delegation represented by GL and American exhibition delegation represented by DUCOMMUN were especially noticeable. Centering around offshore oil and gas industry and covering innovative technologies and equipments on offshore oil and gas development, CIOTC 2013 integrates summit, professional technical symposium, and technical equipment exhibition. It offers a communication and exhibition platform for comprehensive industry analysis, policy consultancy, technical solutions and release of new products. With three-years tampering and leap-forward development, driven by tremendous market demands with large-scale offshore oil & gas development and sustained growth of deep-water oil & gas investments in the world, CIOTC has become China’s most professional and Asia’s most potential offshore oil & gas exhibition, and regarded by the industry as China’s OTC.

Highlight 2: Rich Content, Distinctive Professional Features, Wide Coverage
The “exhibition+synchronous activities” pattern of CIOTC 2013 displays technologies and equipment on offshore oil & gas industry train in an all-round, multi-angle and high-level manner. The activities held concurrently with CIOTC involved not only policy interpretation but also analysis and discussion of demands for international offshore engineering equipment. They promoted communication between oil corporations, offshore engineering enterprises and petroleum & petrochemical equipment enterprise, which has a direct role in helping the manufacturers to gain larger market shares. and significance of the Speeding up Structure Adjustment of Ship Industry to Promote the Implementation of Transformation and Upgrading (2013-2015), Liu Guizhe,who is from China Shipbuilding Industry Research Center analyzed market status, development trend and competitiveness of global offshore engineering equipment market. Luo Youan, general manager of Equipment Management Department of China Oilfield Services Limited, made a report titled Building Modern Offshore Engineering Equipment, Coping with Challenges to Deepwater Exploration & Development, which included detailed analysis of the company’s experience and idea with deepwater equipment. Fu Hongbo, who is from International Project Department of SINOPEC Shengli Offshore Drilling Company analyzed the status of shallow-water oil & gas exploration and development at Bohai Bay and requirements for offshore engineering equipment. ABS Director Sudheer Chand and top leaders and authoritative representatives shared the building requirements and abilities, which have important enlightenment for domestic and foreign enterprises and institutions engaged in offshore oil & gas market. In addition, activities including China Natural Gas International Summit 2013, CNOOC Procurement System Conference, and Columbia Petroleum Market Promotion Exhibition were held during CIOTC. All participants reaped in abundance from the enriched and extensive activities.

Highlight 3: Leap-forward Growth of Professional Visitors in Quantity and Quality
According to statistics from the organizing committee, the number of professional visitors at CIOTC 2013 increased by 28% compared with last year. International visitors and buyers including McDermott International, National Oilwell Varco, Noble Drilling Services Inc, Transocean, Vietnam National Oil & Gas Group, Weatherford Asia Pacific, Caterpillar Marine Asia, Japan Drilling Company, Petronas, Petrofac, Aker Solutions, SBM, BW Offshore, Saipem, Subsea 7, Bluewater Energy Services, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Jurong Shipyard, and Kuwait Gulf Oil Company made CIOTC a real international exhibition. There were as many as 29 VIP visitor groups. Among them, the visitor groups of China Oilfield Services Limited and CNOOC Engineering had members exceeding 500, and the visitor group of well-known oil service company Antonoil had 600 members. Compared with the previous two exhibitions, CIOTC 2013 saw a greater increase in contractors, engineering companies, design companies, research institutions and first-line operators. CIOTC 2013 was highly praised by domestic and foreign exhibitors and visitors. 38% of exhibitors signed exhibition agreement for next year. CIOTC 2014 will be held during November 9-11 at Beijing International Conference Center which provides a high-end site with more perfect supporting facilities. CNOOC Procurement System Conference held concurrently with CIOTC 2014 will be prolonged from half an hour to one day so as to better serve CNOOC suppliers.
