Italy Gas Flows from Algeria Back to Normal

Algerian gas flows to Italy recovered following significant falls in recent days after quality issues prompted gas grid operator Snam to return some of the gas.

Italy gas flows from Algeria are expected to be 39 million cubic metres (mcm), meeting demand from shippers, a Snam spokesman said.

For several days most of the gas Italy received from Algeria was sent back because it did not meet the standards needed by the Italian system.

On Thursday flows from Algeria were around 10 mcm.

Algeria is Italy's No. 2 gas supplier after Russia.
