Epicor Software announced that Aero Stanrew Ltd, a designer and manufacturer of electromagnetic components and electronic systems to the aerospace, defence, oil & gas and space markets across the globe, has selected the Epicor enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution to support its continued growth and unify its enterprise business systems.
Aero Stanrew employs 230 people with sites in the UK and Tunisia, and has experienced phenomenal growth of 60% in the last two years. Its products are used throughout the aerospace and defence industries including all current Airbus and Boeing flight platforms.
"Our growth has been due to a lot of hard work across the company, but now our IT systems need to evolve for the next stage of our development as a company to ensure we maintain customer satisfaction and improve our efficiency," said Phil Stott, finance director at Aero Stanrew Ltd. "The days are numbered on our current systems and we want to automate tasks such as capacity planning which are very time consuming at the moment."
Aero Stanrew's current IT systems consist of a finance package, two instances of a manufacturing resource planning (MRP) solution, and a number of spreadsheets and discrete databases. Its aim in seeking out a new system is to consolidate these functions into a complete quote-to-cash business-wide package, bringing the benefits of insight and efficiency that a well implemented ERP solution can offer.
Aero Stanrew reviewed all the major ERP solutions providers before selecting Epicor ERP for its breadth of functionality out-of-the-box, the minimum amount of configuration that it would require, and because it offered users a great deal of personal customisation options for their roles.
Stott added, "We really do feel that the implementation will be much easier than that of other suppliers we reviewed, and allow us to more quickly take advantage of features such as advanced planning & scheduling, and give customers a more efficient quoting process. We have a strong in-house IT team, and see Epicor ERP as a very rich product that is low-risk for us as a company."
Aero Stanrew will be implementing its solution with the support of Dot Net IT, a member of the Epicor Inspired Partner Network. The company has worked with Dot Net IT in the past, and described its teams as having a great deal of in-house development expertise and knowledge of the Epicor ERP solution.
"More and more customers are making the decision to move to Epicor ERP because they want to transform their business into one that is not only efficient, but the workforce is inspired to keep innovating," said Malcolm Fox, vice president, product marketing for Epicor. "Technology plays a key role in enabling those sparks by putting the right information in front of decision makers and automating tasks, so that staff can focus higher value duties that influence the future of the business."
