The 4th International Exhibition of Oil Product and Service Providers opened in Hassi Messaoud (Ouargla, 800-km southeast of Algiers) with the participation of 400 national and foreign firms from 24 countries.

According to the event's organizer, Petroleum Industry Communication, this year's edition is "a great opportunity to encourage investment in and outside the sector of hydrocarbons so as to make of the capital of oil Hassi Messaoud the largest industrial area in Africa."

The exhibition is intended for professionals in the hydrocarbon sector who are seeking new solutions to their industrial installations.

"It's a great opportunity for oil firms and their providers. Our objective is to allow the exchange of experience and the signing of agreements between oil firms and their providers," said Director of Petroleum Industry Djafar Yacini on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the trade event in presence of local authorities, adding that he expected at least 22,000 professional visitors per day.

France is the most represented country in this edition with 66 firms, followed by China, Russia, Italy and Belgium.

Several conferences and workshops held by national international experts are scheduled on the sidelines of the exhibition.
