In November 2012 Dar Petroleum – South Sudan’s biggest oil company – awarded Dietsmann the contract for the Provision of Operation & Maintenance for Production Resumptions at the Moleeta oilfield in the Melut Basin.
The Melut Basin, a rift basin in the North of South Sudan east of the river Nile, is shaping up to be one of the major sources of crude oil in Africa. The whole field including Adar, Moleeta and Gumry are estimated to contain about 276 million barrels of oil.
Mobilization of the project started in December 2012. At the same time Dietsmann signed similar contracts with GPOC and SPOC for the operations and maintenance of smaller oilfields. Dietsmann’s total workforce on the projects will be well over 100 employees.
Dietsmann was awarded the contracts due to its extensive Operation & Maintenance expertise and experience and its excellent reputation for efficient and safe operations built-up over more than 35 years.
