One person died and two were injured in a fire that broke out in Morocco's sole oil refinery SAMIR, the Moroccan state news agency MAP said.

The fire was caused by a gas leak during a liquefied propane filling operation performed in Samir by two tankers, the agency added.

Officials were not available to confirm whether the fire was under control, or whether there was an impact on the refining capacity which is normally at around 10 million tonnes annually.

Samir is a subsidiary of the Saudi Corral Holding with a market share hovering at around 56 pct.
