Minister of Energy, Youcef Yousfi denounced here the "attempts to destabilizing" of the country, which are behind the opposition to the exploration of shale gas, recently decided by the public authorities.
Speaking to the press in the margin of an information day on the non-conventional hydrocarbons, Yousfi said that Algeria, "accused of energy nationalism "is subject to" attempts at destabilization" designed to prevent it from exploiting its hydrocarbon potential."
"It seemed essential to us that those who contribute tomould public opinion be perfectly aware where are the vital interest of the country and the attempts at destabilization," the minister said.
He added that those "attempts to demonising" the shale gas targeted the producer countries which advocate "energy nationalism" to establish their sovereignty over their natural resources.
