Petrobras discovered new gas accumulation in the post-salt of the Espirito Santo Basin. The discovery was made during drilling of well 3-BRSA-1259-ESS (nomenclature ANP) / 3-ESS-222 (nomenclature Petrobras), informally known as Tanganyika, at a depth of 1043 meters water, located in the Discovery Evaluation Plan (PAD) Malombe, 72 km from the state of Espirito Santo coast. Evidence of discovery occurred by logging in reservoirs at a depth of about 2880 meters. The final well depth was 2996 meters.

The consortium operated by Petrobras (88.89%) in partnership with Repsol Sinopec (11.11%), will continue the operations envisaged, in order to better evaluate the discovery, via formation test.
