Physical progress of 9th Olefin Project at Pars Special Economic Energy Zone, southern Iran, touched 96.61 percent mark by late December, said a report released by the Public Relations Dept. of National Petrochemical Company (NPC) on Sunday.
The report added that part of the 9th Olefin Project to construct an ethylene unit has progressed 97.28 percent by the same period. Moreover, over 78 percent of pre-commissioning operations of the unit has been implemented according to the report.
In addition, construction operations of light polyethylene unit have hit over 95 percent.
During the same period, medium and heavy polyethylene unit of the project has observed 96.79% physical progress.
Started in 2002, the 9th Olefin is among Iranís largest polymer projects, which is expected to come on stream in the next Iranian year (to be started March 21, 2007).
Ethylene, propane, plus medium and heavy polyethylene are some products of this project. Light polyethylene, another by-product, will be used as feed for plastic processing units.
