Augmenting its broad range of automation services for Southeast Asia customers, Emerson Process Management has opened its first manufacturing and integration center in Asia for its Rosemount Analytical technologies, with support from the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). Representing an investment of over USD11 million, this new facility is an addition to Emerson’s existing Southeast Asia Service Center in Singapore that opened in 2008. The Center will produce and distribute analytical and combustion sensors, engineer and design complete analyzer-based solutions, and develop and produce customer-specific systems and products.
Emerson Process Management is recognized globally for its Rosemount Analytical solutions and services, which are widely used in the oil and gas production and petrochemical industries. These industries are experiencing significant growth and driving demand for Emerson’s solutions in Southeast Asia.
“Our customers depend on speed of service and expert collaboration to solve their toughest problems and achieve operational excellence,” commented Sabee Mitra, president of Emerson Process Management, Asia Pacific. “Our new facility is centrally situated in Singapore where it is close to customers and serves them with locally stocked or produced analytical products, engineering and lifecycle support services.”
Expected to employ 65 people by the end of 2015, the center’s team will include engineering, quality control and information technology professionals. The design, engineering and fabrication of integrated solutions for analyzers and sample handling systems at the center will commence in November 2014. Applications covered will include process gas, natural gas, and continuous emission monitoring and steam water analysis systems.
In addition to manufacturing, the new integration center will stock products and spares to ensure faster service to customers across the region. Lifecycle service capabilities will be available including local failure analysis, repair and warranty evaluation services, and factory-certified product and system training.
Manufacturing will be operational by early 2015 for key analytical instrumentation products to serve Asia Pacific and other markets. Products planned for Singapore production initially include liquid and combustion analysis sensors as well as accompanying instrumentation. Future plans include manufacturing of the gas detector product line, as well as gas chromatographs and process gas analyzers.
“Locating our analytical center in Singapore continues our strategy of close proximity to customers for easy access to our substantial and growing analytical technology and services. Adding to that advantage is our staffing of business leaders and experts for important collaboration with our installed base,” said Sundeep Saraf, vice president of Emerson’s Rosemount Analytical business, Asia Pacific.
Emerson’s analytical technologies manufacturing and integration center was officially opened by David Farr, Emerson chairman and CEO, and Yeoh Keat Chuan, managing director of Singapore Economic Development Board on 18 November 2014.
