Lubbers Transport Group, the upstream oil and gas logistics specialist, has announced that it will change its name to Lubbers Logistics Group BV from 1st of January. The group, which operates a pan European logistics network, made the change to reflect the shifting focus of its services from mainly road transport to a more complete logistics offering with divisions including rig moves, projects and resources.

CEO Ger Engelsman said: “This decision is as much about a change in philosophy and outlook as it is about the name. As we grow and as the energy industry continues to evolve, more of our customers are looking for a provider who can give them a complete logistics package that goes beyond simply transporting goods.”

“Over the past few years we have worked hard with our customers to develop these value-add services creating the complete group we see today. It goes without saying that we remain committed to delivering the same excellent service to our clients and working with them in partnership to solve their logistics problems.”

In addition to the group name change, the company has announced it is to re-brand its UK business as Lubbers (UK) Ltd dropping RTH from its name for the first time since the two companies merged.

It marks the end of a significant period of re-branding for the company during which it has brought all of its business units and recent acquisitions under the unifying Lubbers brand.

Engelsman added: “RTH Lubbers is a very high-performing segment of our core road transport and logistics business and the switch to Lubbers (UK) Ltd will only provide further opportunity for growth and service development.”

Company operations will remain unchanged and the company insists that the move to re-brand will only serve as a further reminder to customers that the company is part of a much wider group.

UK sales and marketing director Stuart Ferguson said: “Whilst the RTH name and ethos will always be a part of how we got to where we are, our future under the Lubbers brand is undeniably exciting and will offer our customers a level of service they might not have realised was on offer before. As a business we remain committed to providing and offering the best logistics solutions for our customers and operating as one group will only enhance this.”
