The strategic partnership agreement was signed on 24 February. The basic provisions of the agreement refer to cooperation in education and scientific activities including training and re-training of oil and gas specialists, arrangement of internship for students, involvement of the university employees for consulting, review and work in the state qualification, certification and examination committees, arrangement and preparation of training courses.
The agreement is focused on joint scientific-research activities, arrangement and conduct of scientific conferences, publishing and application of education materials developed by teachers of the university and Sakhalin Energy specialists in the education process.
Roman Dashkov, Chief Executive Officer of Sakhalin Energy noted that the strategic partnership agreement will be a solid ground for mutually beneficial cooperation of business and science. This agreement is a result of our friendly relations built in the beginning of the Sakhalin-2 project.
Over 300 employees of Sakhalin Energy are graduates of the Sakhalin State University or its divisions. During 10 years students of the Sakhalin State University have the opportunity to undertake internship/pre-graduation internship with Sakhalin Energy. Polytechnic College graduates are the key participants of the internship training programme. Upon completion of the programme such graduates get the job at the LNG plant, Onshore Processing Facility (OPF) or offshore platforms.
Igor Minervin, Principal of the Sakhalin State University noted that "there is no university that able to achieve goals without support. Involvement of those who employ graduates, including organisations and investors is necessary. Stable relations between Sakhalin Energy and the Sakhalin State University exist for a long time. Conclusion of the strategic partnership agreement is a new milestone in maintaining of a mutual trust and cooperation between two organisations".
