In march, Alstom has started its equipment’s commercial operations for Manduriacu hydro plant, located in Ecuador, and participated at the official launch of the plant in the country. The event, which happened on March 19th, had the presence of the President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, besides other local authorities, as the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Esteban Albornoz.
After the two generator units’ takeover, included on Alstom’s scope, the company started an assisted operation at the plant that shall be concluded until September of this year, following and supporting CELEC’s operation. The hydro plant already started the energy distribution to the customers.

The beginning of our operations on this project, once again, proves our commitment in generate electric energy with excellence and quality to the world’s population and Alstom’s contribution to the development of the countries”, says Janu?rio Dolores, General Director of Alstom’s Hydro Business in Latin America.
Alstom is part of a consortium which supplies equipment to the Manduriacu’s project, in which its share is approximately €25 million. The scope includes two Kaplan turbines of 30MW each, with a total of 60MW of generation, beyond the delivery of hydromechanical equipment, substation and balance of plant. The manufacturing was done at Alstom’s unit in Taubaté, in S?o Paulo (Brazil), and passed through a quantity of operational tests at the factory.
