The managing-director of National Iranian Gas Exports Company (NIGEC) has announced the selection of consultant for a pipeline to be stretched from Iran to Oman to carry gas.
“Selection of Iranian consultant to conduct [feasibility] studies on Iran-Oman gas pipeline has been finalized and legal procedures are under way for awarding the project,” Ali-Reza Kameli said.
He said the 400-kilometer pipeline, stretching from Mubarak Mountain to Sohar Port, is defined in two onshore and offshore sections.
Kameli said studies on both onshore and offshore sections of the pipeline are to be conducted simultaneously to avoid any disruption in the implementation of the project.
Iran agreed in 2013 to export 28 mcm/d of gas to Oman through a subsea pipeline for 15 years.
