This year, SOR Inc. welcomed the NUPIC and NIAC groups to their manufacturing headquarters in Lenexa, Kansas, USA. The SOR Nuclear Quality Management System is reviewed regularly by the Nuclear Procurement Issues Committee (NUPIC) which is made up of nuclear utilities throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

“The NUPIC team assesses the SOR nuclear quality program’s compliance to Nuclear standards: 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 21, ANSI N45.2, and NQA-1,” explains SOR Director of Quality Assurance, Melanie Dirks.

The Nuclear Industry Assessment Committee (NIAC), a group of vendors and manufacturers, have also reviewed and approved the Nuclear Quality Management System at SOR.

Both groups share their reports with their respective members.

SOR engineers and manufactures nuclear instrumentation including 1E-Qualified products for existing and new-build nuclear plants as well as an extensive line of non-1E pressure level, vacuum and temperature switches. SOR is one of the only pressure switch manufacturers to offer a full line of nuclear qualified pressure, differential pressure, vacuum and temperature switches.
