Tecna, a global engineering, procurement and construction company specialising in implementation of projects within oil and gas markets, has been awarded a project management consultancy (PMC) services contract for the Salalah LPG project by Oman Gas Co (OGC).

OGC is to develop the LPG extraction facilities project in Salalah. The facilities will be designed to process rich gas from Salalah region in order to extract propane, butane and condensate. The residual lean gas will be fed back to OGC’s gas network.

The new plant and associated facilities are planned to be constructed at two locations. The extraction and fractionation facilities will be built in the Salalah Free Zone, while liquid products will be sent to the main refrigerated storage facilities planned in the Salalah port area.

In a press release, Tecna said the concept study for the project has been concluded and the front-end engineering and design (FEED) phase is on track.

“It is envisaged to deploy an integrated project management team composed of very skilled and experienced professional resources from OGC and the project management consultant.”

The project execution strategy considers two of Tecna’s PMC teams to support the quality control and assurance of simultaneous FEED execution to be developed in two different locations: CB&I in The Hague, Netherlands and Petrofac in Sharjah, UAE.

During the past four decades, Tecna has been supporting its clients in the overall development of projects from design and construction of industrial plants to commissioning and start up, as well as operation and maintenance in Latin America, Europe, Africa and Middle East.
