The new phase-shifting metrology instrument performs advanced characterization of precision optical surfaces.
A high-resolution camera and optimized optical design characterize the mid-spatial frequency content in optical surfaces – a critical need for high-precision applications. For versatility and precision, the Verifire HD interferometer is equipped with ZYGO’s patented QPSI™ vibration-robust acquisition technology that enables the system to maintain a high level of measurement accuracy in vibration prone environments.
Vibration that occurs with the use of traditional phase measuring acquisition can cause “fringe print-through,” a form of data noise that degrades results. With QPSI technology, however, phase-shifting measurements are virtually ripple-free. The Verifire HD system also can be configured to include CARS™ (coherent artifact reduction) technology to reduce spatial noise like speckle and bullseyes.
For the Verifire HD system, measurement and analysis of surface form, radius of curvature and transmitted wave front quality are supported with ZYGO’s Mx™ metrology software, the industry’s most powerful data analysis and visualization platform. Mx software includes a new Smart Averaging feature, which helps users obtain the best possible measurement in the shortest time period.
