Grupo R Petroleo y Gas Won the Contract for Secadero Block

Grupo R Petroleo y Gas S.A.P.I. de C.V. through its affiliate Grupo R Exploracion y Producion, S.A. de C.V., has been successful in its bid in Round 1's Third Bid for a License Contract for the Extraction of Hydrocarbons in an onshore conventional oilfield in Mexico.

December 15th, 2015 marked an important date in the history of Mexico’s oil and gas industry, as the winners of the much awaited Round 1 L-03 were announced. Grupo R Petroleo y Gas won the contract for Secadero field in the state of Chiapas, in the south of the country.

The block, with and extension of 9.8 square kilometers, featured an original volume in site of 7 million barrels of crude oil and 17,000 million cubic feet of gas; as of January 1, 2015, the oilfield had an accumulated production of 3 million barrels of crude oil and 5,000 millions of cubic feet of gas.
