Sudan oil production reach 300,000 barrels by the end of 2003

"By the end of 2003 the Sudanese daily oil production is expected to increase from 275,000 barrels to 300,000 barrels" said The Sudanese Minister of Energy and Mining Mr. Awad El Gas.
Mr. El Gas announced some oil finds in the north and south of Sudan; the northern fields indicated significant presence of hydrocarbons exceeding the expectations in conjunction with the Southern fields.The Sudanese estimated that oil reserves reach 2.9 billion barrel by the end of the current decade.
The oil production started in El Wehda State then to Hagleeg and it will be extended to block 9, which covers El Gezira, White Nile and Khartoum States beside the block which covers Senar and Dandar. Many scientific signs indicates the presence of oil in west, east and north Sudan. The work is being done in the third field of the White Nile and Nile Heights beside the fourth field in south Pantio in El Wehda State.
