Advancing Clean Fuels Project with an Investment of $ 4 billion

Petroleos Mexicanos boost phase II of the project related to cleaner fuels Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel refineries for Madero, Tamaulipas; Salamanca, Guanajuato; Minatitlan, Veracruz; Tula, Hidalgo, and Salina Cruz, Oaxaca.

Thus, with a total of nearly 4 billion dollars, of which 58 percent is from private investors, 12 new plants will be built and modernized 14 existing, as complementary systems and integrated support services will be installed to these refineries. In Madero refinery they will be invested over a billion dollars and the jobs will be in charge of the company ICA Flour Daniel. In the case of Salamanca will be invested over $ 500 million and the work will be provided by Samsung Engineering.

Meanwhile, in the Minatitlan refinery investments they represent $ 700 million, the company developing the works Treunidas Mexico Engineering and Construction, while in Tula more than 600 million dollars municipality contract with Avanzia Facilities will be invested; Salina Cruz the amount will exceed one billion dollars, leaving the work by the consortium Foster Wheeler - Arendal.

It is estimated that these projects will generate more than 12,000 direct and 31,000 indirect jobs, in addition to reducing diesel imports represent not only a positive impact on the trade balance, but also boost the economies of the locations where such work is carried out.
