The Coordinator of Strategic Sectors, Rafael Poveda Bonilla, together with the general manager of Petroamazonas EP, José Icaza Romero, Minister conducted a technical inspection to jobs running in Block 31 and Block 43, Tiputini field located outside the Yasuni National Park.
On the site they kicked off the drilling the first development well on the platform called Tiputini C. The activity is led by the public company Petroamazonas EP and Ecuadorian technicians. friendly technologies are applied to the environment, and in strict compliance with the approved Environmental License approved by the Ministry of Environment: directional and horizontal drilling cluster. It is expected for the coming months to remove the first barrel of oil in this area, whose reserves are estimated at 920 million barrels of oil, the same that could exceed one billion barrels.

Previously, the authorities reached the Apaika and Nenke fields, located within Block 31. The field went into operation in 2013 and currently has 14 wells in Apaika and 8 in Nenke, whose last platform Nenke 4 well located, with a production of over 4,500 barrels of oil, one of the largest production platforms in Latin America. The Poveda minister noted that currently the Block 31 production exceeds 20,000 barrels of oil.
