Companies producing electricity from renewable energy will benefit from the guarantee to sale their production over twenty years (20), Energy Minister Salah Khebri declared in Algiers during the Algeria-UK business forum.
Speaking at a workshop on renewable energies, held part of the forum, the minister stated that the Algerian regulations guarantee to companies producing electricity from renewable energies costs enabling them recover expenses and make profits.
Algeria established an investment legal framework in the fields of renewable energies in order to develop all infrastructure relating to this sector and boost partnership to manufacture related equipment in Algeria.
In this regard, he referred to priorities of the National program of renewable energy development adopted by the Council of Ministers in May 2015 that targets a 4.500-megawat power production generated by solar and wind energy.
By 2030, production capacity should reach 22.000 megawatts and the renewable energy share in power generation should reach 27%, the minister stated.
For his part, president of the Executive Committee of the Electricity and Gas Regulation Commission (CREG) Abdelali Badache stated that the kilowatt-hour price will not be increased as a decline in prices and equipment used in electricity production has been witnessed worldwide.
He stressed that all facilitation measures have been taken to enable investors interested in the Algerian market launch their projects in the best conditions.
