Total production of oil and natural gas in Brazil in April totaled 2.893 million of barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe / d). Oil production was approximately 2,290 million barrels per day (bbl / d), an increase of 1.1% compared to the previous month and reduction of 4.3% compared to the same month in 2015. Since production natural gas totaled 95.8 million cubic meters per day (m3 / d), an increase of 6% over the previous month and increased 1.5% compared to the same month in 2015.

Subsalt

The production of pre-salt, coming from 56 wells, was 801,300 barrels of oil per day (bbl / d) of oil and 30.8 million cubic meters per day (m3 / d) of natural gas, totaling 994,900 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe / d), a decrease of 9.9% over the previous month. The main reason for the reduction of production in pre-salt were shutdowns of platforms FPSO Cidade de Paraty and FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis, both located in the Lula field. The wells of the "pre-salt" are those whose production is carried out in the geological horizon called pre-salt fields located in the area defined in section IV of the caput of art. 2 of Law No. 12,351, 2010.

Flaring

The natural gas utilization in the month was 95.8%. The gas burns in April was 4 million cubic meters per day (m3 / d), a decrease of 13.8% compared to the previous month and an increase of 9.2% over the same month in 2015.

Producing fields

The offshore fields produced 93.3% of oil and 76% natural gas. The production took place in 8,925 wells, 761 sea and land 8,164. The fields operated by Petrobras produced 95.2% of the oil and natural gas.

The Lula field, in the Santos Basin, was the largest producer of oil and natural gas, producing on average 307,900 bbl / d of oil and 14.9 million cubic meters / day of natural gas.

Strait, in the Potiguar Basin, had the largest number of producing wells: 1,064. Marlim field in the Campos Basin, was the maritime field with the largest number of producing wells: 60.

The platform P-58 producing fields whale dwarf, blue whale, France humpback whale is produced by means of shafts 11 connected to it, 170,700 BOE / a was more production platform.

Land mature basins (fields / long-term testing of the basins of Espirito Santo, Potiguar, Reconcavo, Sergipe and Alagoas) produced 159,200 boe / d and 129,400 bbl / d of oil and 4.7 million m3 / d of natural gas. Of this total, 154.2 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day were produced by Petrobras and 5,000 boe / d by grants not operated by Petrobras, with 415 boe / d in Alagoas, 1,809 boe / d in Bahia, 18 boe / d in Holy spirit, 2,637 boe / d in Rio Grande do Norte and 118 boe / d in Sergipe.

Other information

In April 2016, 299 concessions operated by 23 companies, were responsible for domestic production. Of these, 78 are offshore concessions and 221 land. Of the total production concessions, one is in exploratory activity and producing through Extended Well Test (EWT) and other eight are related to areas of contracts containing marginal accumulations.
