Japanese city gas supplier Shizuoka Gas Co said it signed a contract to sell the first re-load liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo from its modified Shimizu LNG terminal to Singapore-based Shell Eastern Trading Co.

The company completed the installation of re-load facilities to the Shimizu terminal in April, and the first re-load cargo will be shipped to Shell Eastern on a free-on-board basis (FOB) in the first quarter of 2017, the company said.

The company said it would aim to lower LNG procurement costs by boosting trading volumes and liquidity. (Reporting by Osamu Tsukimori; Editing by Michael Perr
