The Board of Directors of Petroleos Mexicanos approved the appointment of Juan Lozano Tovar, as General Director of the productive state-owned subsidiary Pemex Fertilizers.
The session was chaired by the Ministry of Energy, Pedro Joaquin Coldwell, and was followed by the appointments of Cutberto Azuara Pavon, as Director of Production at Pemex Industrial Transformation, and Guadalupe Merino Ba?uelos, as Deputy Director of Strategic Planning and Regulatory Analysis within the Corporate Direction of Planning, Coordination and Performance.
Lozano Tovar graduated from Law School at the Universidad Iberoamericana, and has held several positions within the public and private sector. He acted as General Ministry of the Inter-American Security Conference, and as Head of the Liaison Unit at the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), where he currently served as Director of the Economic and Social Benefits Division.
Cutberto Azuara earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional. He began his career at Pemex in 1970, while working at the Minatitlan refinery. Among other positions held, he was Coordinator of Refineries and Distribution of Products, Superintendent of Traffic and Supplies, General Manager of Pipelines Transportation, Sales Deputy Director and Storage and Distribution Deputy Director of Pemex Refining.
He was also President of Petroleos Mexicanos Internacional (PMI) in Houston, Texas, and has lectured at the Tecnologico de Minatitlan.
Guadalupe Merino earned a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from School of Science at UNAM, and has worked for Petroleos Mexicanos for the past 23 years, as Head of Financing and Market Analysis, Head of Risks Control, Deputy Director of Corporate Services, Deputy Director of Planning and Budget, and Deputy Director of Economic Planning.
More recently she served as Interim Deputy Director of Strategic Planning and Regulatory Analysis, position which she will now officially serve as director.
