Operating Contracts Given to Chinese First and Most Advanced Deepwater Drilling Rig

China National Petroleum Corporation Offshore Engineering Company (referred to as “CPOE”) signed the operation contact of D90 1# with Yantai CIMC Raffles (referred to as “CIMC Raffles”) in Yantai.

As the first most advanced deepwater and dual-derrick drilling rig under construction, D90 1# is based on Frigstad D90 design and built by CIMC Raffles, including detailed design, construction design and commissioning. With length of 117m, width of 92.7m and height of 118m, D90 1# is equipped with DP3 dynamic positioning system and classed by DNV. Having the deepest drilling depth (up to 15,240m and operation depth up to 3.658m), D90 1# can be operated in deepwater globally. Compared with traditional single derrick drilling rig, D90 1# can raise up to 30% efficiency, meanwhile save 10% energy by high-efficiency hydraulic twin-tower and global leading Siemens DP3 close ring system.

D90 1# will start the sea trial in this September and be delivered at the end of 2016. Meanwhile D90 2# is under construction in Yantai CIMC Raffles shipyard.

Having good cooperation with CPOE, CIMC Raffles has repaired “CPOE 61”, “CPOE 10”and delivered “CPOE 15”jackup. CIMC Raffles has been accumulating rich construction experience and highly appreciate from global main-stream clients.
