Iraq Minister of Oil to Present the Nasiriya Refinery for Investment

Mr. Jabbar A. Allibi the minister of oil to present the Nasiriya refinery in Thi-Qar province to be invested by the domestic & foreign companies.

Mr. Allibi said that the plan of the ministry aims to develop the refining sector and raise the national production of oil derivatives by opening the doors for the well-known companies to enter the competition for building and rehabilitating the Nasiriya refinery according to the valid instructions & rules.

Mr. Allibi confirmed also that this vital project is necessary to provide the oil derivatives for the country according to the international standards in order to cover a part of the local need… as well as to employ thousands of the citizens from the province and the private sector companies and services in order to improve the economic situation in the province. He also called the concerned authorities to solve all the administrative hindrances which might delay the project in order to award it to the companies which are going to present the best offers.

Mr. Allibi commanded the concerned directorates in the ministry to speed-up the reference of the other four refineries "which are Kirkuk, Kut, Samawa and Basra" to the investment companies.
