As part of the strategy of Petroleos Mexicanos to seek partnerships in order to help strengthen their operations and achieve profitability, the National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) made information on the onshore fields Cardenas, Mora and Ogarrio available to third parties, under the process of license of use.
The fields Cardenas and Mora (assignations A-0063-M and A-0226-M) are located 62 kilometers from the city of Villahermosa, Tabasco. The first field comprises an estimated area of 104 km2 ; and the second of 64 km 2 Together they have total 3P reserves of about 94 million barrels of crude oil equivalent (MMboe) as of January 1, 2016, and represent an immediate production of light crude oil of 39D API.
On the other hand, the Ogarrio field (assignation A-0244-M) is located in the municipality of Huimanguillo, Tabasco, 65 km from the city of Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz. It covers an estimated area of 153 km2 and has adequate infrastructure and roads. It contains 3P reserves of 54 MMboe as of January 1, 2016, and involves the immediate production of light crude of 37o API.
This is a part of the strategy of Petroleos Mexicanos, which was proposed in its Business Plan, in order to create alliances with operating companies that have proven experience in exploiting fields similar to those involved in the assignations mentioned, which are currently in the process of migration with a partner, towards a contract for the exploration and extraction of hydrocarbons.
