JV partner Oil Search reports that the Total-operated JV has drilled down to the Antelope Deep exploration prospect at the Antelope 7ST1 (Antelope / Antelope Deep) appraisal/exploration well in PRL 15, in Papua New Guinea. The well, which is located 1.4km WSW of Antelope 5, was deepened to encounter carbonate in a seismically defined structure under the Antelope field.
During March, the Antelope 7ST1 wellbore was deepened to intersect the seismically defined Antelope Deep exploration prospect. The carbonate target was encountered at a depth of 2,766 metres. A 7” liner was set, a vertical seismic profile log was acquired and approx. 9 metres of conventional core was cut. At the end of the month, the well was being deepened and was at a depth of 3,226.5 metres.
