Qatargas Receives Qatarization Award in the Energy and Industry Sector

Qatargas received the prestigious ‘Qatarization Crystal Award’ in recognition of its efforts in “Support for Training and Development” at the annual award ceremony held on the sidelines of the 17th Qatarization Review Meeting of the Energy and Industry sector.

The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry, and attended by Mr. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, the President & CEO of Qatar Petroleum, and Chairman of Qatargas Board of Directors, and Khalid Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Qatargas Chief Executive Officer, as well as senior officials and representatives from the 36 companies implementing the strategic Qatarization plan in the energy and industry sector.

Khalid Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Qatargas Chief Executive Officer, received the award from H.E. Dr. Al-Sada on behalf of Qatargas.

This is Qatargas’ fifth Qatarization Crystal award since the award was instituted nine years ago. The Company won the award for the first time in 2010 for ‘Supporting Qatarization’. In 2011, Qatargas won the award in the ‘Support for Training and Development’ category. This was followed by two consecutive awards in 2013 and 2014 for ‘Support and Liaison with the Education Sector’ and ‘Support for Training and Development’ respectively.

Attracting, retaining, developing and motivating a high caliber workforce is an important element of Qatargas’ Direction Statement. As the World’s Premier LNG Company, the Qatari national employees have an important role to play in the future of Qatargas and the development of the country. As envisaged in the Human Development pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030, development of the national workforce is a top priority at Qatargas.
