ABB announced that it will provide life cycle services for the new plants and float glass production lines of Fuyao Glass Industry Group Co., Ltd. (Fuyao Group), to help the user enhance equipment reliability, production efficiency and achieve asset value preservation, appreciation and performance improvement.
This is another agreement between ABB and Fuyao Group, which has, over the years, underscored their long-lasting solid business relations.
Float glass production lines feature continuity and large scale, generally requiring up to 10 years of continuous operation without shutdown. On such lines, shutdowns caused by equipment failures result in huge economic losses. Fuyao Group’s float production lines, which are based on advanced information and automation technologies, achieve highly intelligent production, which require stringent electrical protection, tests, control and maintenance.
As an important supplier to Fuyao Group, ABB offers industry-specific solutions to Fuyao’s multiple production lines. On the float glass production line at Fuyao’s headquarters located in Fuqing, Fujian, the full range of ABB electrical products including 10 kV transformers, high/low-voltage switchgear and production control cabinets have been operating for 13-years with high levels of safety and stability. A recent cold repair of the production line found that these ABB products are still in good working condition.
In order to ensure stable operation of its glass plants, Fuyao Group recently signed a life cycle service agreement with ABB. Under the agreement, ABB will provide Fuyao’s new plants and subsidiaries with life cycle services for production and power distribution systems, including spare parts, equipment repair, remote servicing, training, maintenance and upgrades, as well as thorough resource management. ABB’s proven expertise can help the user detect and monitor the status of equipment and take preventive maintenance measures.
