Held under the patronage of H.E. Eng Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, MOC 2018 will host some 500 companies from 25 countries, with more than 15.000 visitors set to attend the show.
As a platform for discussing the global challenges facing the Oil & Gas industry, MOC continues to draw the crowds.
This year sees the 9th edition of MOC, the Mediterranean Offshore Conference and Exhibition, held as always in Alexandria. Fifteen thousand industry leaders, technical experts, professionals, and decision makers are set to descend on Alexandria upcoming April.
MOC has shown steady growth over the eight editions and it continues to receive increased attendance both internationally and locally. After a very successful 23% growth MOC 2016 exceeded expectations with a record attendance of 10,758 attendees, this year we are expecting to beat 15.000 attendees over the three days.
In the past 8 editions, MOC played host to more than 2000 companies from more than 60 countries and global participation from all continents with 40% of exhibitors from Egypt, North Africa and GCC countries, and 60% of exhibitors from international countries.
WHY EGYPT, WHY MOC
«Newly discovered gas deposited in the eastern Mediterranean can offer Europe the alternative sources of energy» the Egypt's president said. «These gas discoveries can contribute to the European continent's search for alternative energy sources, taking advantage of the position of Egypt and Cyprus» El-Sissi said after a meeting with his Cypriot counterpart. Why Egypt? Because Egypt has over 70 trillion cubic feet of proven gas reserves with Zohr, the largest gas discovery in the Mediterranean…because with 4 billion barrels of proven oil reserves Egypt is one of the largest oil and gas producers in Africa and in a strong position to become the regional oil and gas hub within the next five years….because $16 billion investments are targeted for the Zohr field, $11 billion for North Alex and $3 billion for the Atoll concession….because Alexandria is the main hub of the Mediterranean area and MOC is the most technical meeting in the Mediterranean area and your gateway to the rich Mediterranean O&G market.
INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION AT MOC REMAINS STRONG
As for previous editions, local and regional attendance is high and continues to be mirrored by considerable international participation. Companies from as far afield as China and USA recognize the huge potential that MOC offers for benefiting from the oil and gas sector and are using MOC to introduce their products and services to this lucrative market. MOC has an impressive global representation from participating countries, with 68% of them coming from overseas.
MOC - THE MEDITERRANEAN OFFSHORE CONFERENCE & EXHIBITION
Organized by the Egyptian Petroleum Sector in partnership with the Offshore Mediterranean Conference (OMC) Ravenna, MOC Conference & Exhibition has become the most important international energy meeting on the southern shore of the Mediterranean focusing on O&G. MOC is the Egypt’s premier energy event focusing on Oil & Gas with a history going back to 2000. The theme for the MOC 2018 Conference “Mediterranean Potentials – Unlocked Step 2” is highly relevant given the status of the explorations in the Mediterranean. Producers, consumers, transit countries and oil companies all have a significant role to play.
With a growing population and the aspirations for economic growth all over the world it is expected that the global demand for energy will double by 2050. The Mediterranean basin is considered a world-class energy source with huge hydrocarbon potential and Egypt has a significant role to play in the Mediterranean energy industry.
Mr. Osama El Bakly, Chairman of EGAS and of the MOC 2018 Organising Committee welcome all attendees to the Official O&G event of the Ministry of Petroleum of Egypt.
