Today, the President of Mexico, Enrique Pena Nieto, appointed Carlos Alberto Trevino Medina as the new CEO of Petroleos Mexicanos, to substitute Jose Antonio Gonzalez Anaya, who acted as the head of the State-owned Production Company from February 2016 to date.
Gonzalez Anaya was in turn appointed by the Chief of the Federal Executive Power as Minister of Finance and Public Credit.
Until now, Carlos Alberto Trevino Medina worked as corporate director of Management and Services for Pemex. He is a graduate from the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education), where he studied Industrial Food Engineering and earned Master’s degrees in Business Management and in Science with a specialty in Food Engineering.
In Petr?leos Mexicanos, he acted as CFO and on two occasions, also as Corporate Management Director.
Amongst other positions, he was Chief Clerk of the Ministries of Economy and Energy. He also performed as undersecretary of Expenditure for the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, CEO of Financiera Rural, and CFO of the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (Mexican Institute of Social Security).
