Sovcomflot and Sakhalin Energy, Sakhalin-2 project operator, have signed an agreement for further development of their cooperation.
Sakhalin 2 currently uses seven multi-purpose ice-class platform supply vessels, constructed specifically for Sakhalin 2 Project and harsh environmental conditions offshore north-west Sakhalin. Four of them — Gennadiy Nevelskoy, Stepan Makarov, Fyodor Ushakov and Evgeny Primakov — were added to Sovcomflot fleet in 2017-2018. Today, their high manoeuvring capabilities coupled with cargo and passenger capacity place them among the best in class.
Additionally, Sakhalin Energy charters oil tankers and LNG carriers to ensure uninterrupted deliveries of Sakhalin Blend oil and liquefied natural gas from the first LNG plant in Russia.
For many years Sovcomflot vessels have been playing an important role in successful Sakhalin Energy operations helping the Company in the journey towards its strategic goal — to be the premier energy source for Asia-Pacific.
Sovcomflot vessels sail under Russian Flag and have Russian crews, and they ensure safe and reliable hydrocarbons supply to Asia-Pacific markets as well as high Russian content in Sakhalin 2 Project.
During the signing ceremony, Roman Dashkov, Sakhalin Energy’s CEO, said: "Huge joint experience and plans for the future demonstrate that our partnership with Sovcomflot will continue to provide robust energy bridges between Russia and Asia-Pacific buyer countries.”
