KrisEnergy Ltd. (“KrisEnergy” or the “Company”, and together with its subsidiaries, the “Group”), an independent upstream oil and gas company, announces the appointment of James Parkin as Chief Operating Officer, effective 1 January 2019, to oversee efficiency of the Group’s producing assets as well as the multiple workstreams associated with KrisEnergy-operated development projects.
Mr. Parkin was a member of KrisEnergy’s founding management team and has held the role of Vice President Exploration since 2009. He has more than 38 years’ experience in the upstream oil and gas sector of which 30 years have been in Southeast Asia, including senior management roles with Pearl Energy Ltd. from 2003 to 2009. Kelvin Tang, Chief Executive Officer, commented: “James’ appointment is in line with our strategy to align existing manpower resources with prevailing operations.
We are entering a critical period with progression on the infill drilling program in the Wassana field and the Cambodia Apsara oil development, as well as preliminary planning and design works for the Rossukon oil project in the Gulf of Thailand. Many of the KrisEnergy team have worked with James in previous companies and therefore I believe it will be a seamless transition into this vital supervisory role.”
Mr. Parkin began his career in 1979 as a Mudlogger, later becoming a Wellsite Geologist with Exploration Logging International. From 1986 until 1990, he worked as an Operations Geologist with British Gas before moving to Indonesia as a Senior Geologist for Petromer Trend and later becoming Senior Exploration Geologist for Union Texas Petroleum and Far East Exploration Co. Ltd.
From 1998 until 2003, Mr. Parkin was a Senior Geologist and then Team Leader East Java at Gulf Indonesia/Conoco/ConocoPhillips. Mr. Parkin holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Geology from the University of Sheffield and a Master of Science in Petroleum Geology from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London.
He is a fellow of the Geological Society of London and member of the South East Asia Petroleum Exploration Society, the Indonesian Petroleum Association and the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain.
