The new refineries of South Pars gas field will be officially inaugurated by the late February, Iran’s Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh announced in a press conference on Tuesday. On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Islamic revolution, oil minister said that the phases 13, 22-24 will be implemented in 3 weeks which leads Iran to produce 610 MCM a day, public relations reported.
Reminding the discovery of this gas field in 1989, Zanganeh said the first negotiations took place in 1996. Then the agreements were signed to develop south pars gas field.
Now, 21 phases are under implementation. In addition, the four mentioned phases will be put into operation by the late February. These phases will extract 56 million cubic meters of sour gas.
According to Zanganeh, offshore facilities of the phases 13, 14, 22-24 will be completed by the end of next Iranian calendar year (March 2020).
