Gazprom Neft has signed a further partnership agreement on implementing social and economic projects with the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (YaNAO) in a document signed by Alexander Dyukov, CEO and Chairman of the Management Board, Gazprom Neft, and Dmitry Artyukhov, Governor of the YaNAO.
The agreement envisages the implementation of a range of social infrastructure projects in the Tazovsky district of the YaNAO, where the company is continuing its proactive development of a new production cluster, having now initiated development at the Tazovsky and Severo-Samburgsky fields. These assets are expected to reach peak production in 2021–2022, at three million tonnes of oil per year. This new oil-production area is being developed as part of the company’s agreed strategy and investment programme in the YaNAO.
The parties will continue their cooperation in further developing the region’s economy and improving its investment climate, as well as improving living standards for local people. The company has, already, implemented a range of major infrastructure projects, directed at promoting an attractive urban environment, and promoting children’s and public sport, as part of its “Home Towns” corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.* The Avangard Ice Centre and the Polyarny Sports Complex in the Labytnangi district are expected to be commissioned in 2019, while construction of the multi-functional “Yamal-Arena” ice palace in Salekhard continues, with the company’s support.
A further agreement provides for the development of road and energy infrastructure in the Tazovsky district, with Gazprom Neft being specifically involved in constructing a high-voltage transmission line from the Tazovskoye field to the Tibey-Sale conurbation to provide electricity for local people. The company will also repair the road leading to the Gaz-Sale settlement, bringing it into proper working order. In addition to this, Gazprom Neft will ensure uninterrupted gas supplies to residents in the Tazovsky and Gaz-Sale settlements.
Alexander Dyukov, Gazprom Neft CEO and Chairman of the Management Board, commented: “The Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug is an area of strategic development for Gazprom Neft.
We are implementing unique projects in the region’s Arctic territories, in developing the Novoportovskoye and Vostochno-Messoyakhskoye fields, as well as starting to develop oil-rim deposits at the Tazovskoye, Severo-Samburgskoye and Yamburgskoye fields. Developing the Okrug’s social infrastructure, and putting in place an environment in which to further improve living standards for the people of Yamal, are key points on Gazprom Neft’s production map — as well as being completely consistent with the company’s objectives, and our commitment to ensuring our development, in line with that of the region.”
Dmitry Artyukhov, Governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug added: “Gazprom Neft will always be a reliable strategic partner to Yamal.
Under our agreement educational, medical, cultural and sports facilities are being built all over the region. The company is actively involved in environmental and social projects. The document we are signing today continues years of proven cooperation. It is extremely important that the key issues for Yamal’s residents are taken into account here. Through frictionless teamwork we will, together, address current challenges and pursue our agenda.”
