Gazpromneft-Bitumen Materials, operator of the Gazprom Neft bitumens business, sold 202,000 tonnes of high-tech modified bitumen and bitumen-derivative products in 2018, a 35-percent increase on 2017.
Total sales of bitumen materials reached more than 2.5 million tonnes in 2018, a 11.5-percent increase year-on-year. The company’s products are widely used in building key road facilities in Russia, including in developing and improving transport infrastructure in World Cup host cities.
In order to make supplies of innovative bitumen binders available throughout Russia’s regions, Gazprom Neft began putting in place its own bitumen terminals network in 2018 with a manufacturing—logistics terminal in the Rostov Oblast (in Salsk) becoming the network’s first asset — resulting in deliveries of bitumen materials to the Southern Federal District increasing by 28 percent.
Dmitry Orlov, CEO, Gazpromneft-Bitumen Materials, commented: “Gazprom Neft’s strategy for developing its bitumens business envisages expanding sales geographically and increasing sales of modified bitumens, improving the quality and longevity of road coverings.
We are testing and implementing best international practices and technological projects, and improving the efficiency of our production processes and logistics, to that end. The company is also actively developing its R&D activity, providing wide-ranging expertise and technical support to roadbuilding-industry market players.”
