Pertamina Upstream Energy Tuban East Java (PHE TEJ) continues exploration activities to find new oil and gas reserves in the Tuban area. After the WMA-1 Exploration Well Drilling Socialization, another search for new reserves carried out by PHE TEJ is 3D seismic survey.
On Thursday, June 13, 2019 PHE TEJ received full support from the Tuban District Government, support for the activity was expressed by the Deputy Regent of Tuban, Noor Nahar Hussein in the series of activities to carry out the 3D PHE TEJ seismic survey.
"The Tuban Regency Government with all levels from the sub-district to the village is ready to fully support what PHE TEJ will do in the Tuban area, we are ready to help become a bridge of communication so that seismic activities are carried out properly." said Deputy Regent of Tuban.
Under the supervision of SKK Migas, PHE TEJ received attention and appreciation for the efforts made in finding oil and gas reserves in the Tuban Block area. According to SKK Migas Jabanusa representatives (Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara) Ami Hermawati who was present during the 3D PHE TEJ seismic survey socialization, said "Previously the Tuban WK was operated by PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) together with partners through the Pertamina-Petrochina East Joint Body Java (JOB PPEJ) but since May 20, 2018 Blok Tuban has been officially operated 100% by PHE TEJ, we support this effort and our great hope to all stakeholders can help smooth this seismic activity. "
General Manager of Randugunting PHE TEJ & PHE, Darwin Tangkalalo explained, "3D seismic surveys & WMA-1 drilling are proof that Pertamina is committed to supporting national energy security, and 100% is done by the nation's best sons and daughters"
Seismic exploration using seismic methods is widely used by oil companies to map structures beneath the earth's surface to be able to see the possibility of hydrocarbon traps based on interpretations of seismic cross sections.
Iwan Bagus Indriyanto as PHE TEJ's Exploration Manager revealed "There are 227 Km2 of area in the Tuban area that will be seismic, 3D Seismic Survey is an effort to search for oil and gas that is below the earth's surface with seismic waves arising from vibrations produced by vibrating sources, will be completed within 6 months, starting after the socialization stage is carried out"
Energy consumption continues to increase each year (energy per capita grows 7% per year throughout 2012-2017) along with population growth, industrial needs and national development progress. Meanwhile, the distribution and continuity of meeting needs between Java and Outer Islands, and between cities and villages still continues to increase and lead to inequality.
Various sources of data suggest that proven oil reserves will run out in less than 10 years.
PHE TEJ in carrying out its activities is fully committed to standardizing quality and professionalism, by implementing Pertamina Golden Rules. The scheme is obedient to regulations, interventions against unsafe actions and those that violate regulations, and have a high sense of concern.
