Grupo R started drilling the Xikin – 32 marine well, becoming the first company to start the marine drilling works of the program promoted by the new administration of PEMEX Exploration and Production (PEP). The Xikin field is the first of the 16 marine fields that PEP is scheduled to develop to increase the oil production of the State Productive Enterprise.
To carry out these tasks, Grupo R mobilized the Cantarell IV self-elevating drilling rig, the newest in our fleet and one of the most modern in the world. Cantarell IV arrived in Mexico on April 20, 2019 and began drilling operations at 0:00 hours on July 1, 2019. The contract is valid until March 2021.
