TechnipFMC celebrated the first steel cut of the manifolds and subsea structures for CNOOC’s Liuhua 16-2 Oilfields Development Project recently. The milestone, which took place in Jutal’s Zhuhai yard in China, brought us a step closer to completion in this engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning project that was awarded mid last year.
Arnaud Pieton, President Subsea at TechnipFMC, commented: “This is an important milestone for the project and is another step towards delivery of our first hybrid compact manifold in Asia. We look forward to a safe and successful execution of this scope with our subcontractor Jutal. The Liuhua 16-2 Oilfields Development Project is a strategic project for the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) and continues TechnipFMC's long collaborative relationship with this customer.”
The contract covers 26 units of Enhanced Horizontal Christmas Trees (EHXT), Wellheads, Subsea Control Systems, 3 Manifolds, Tie-In Systems and Intervention Workover Control Systems (IWOCS), as well as the installation and commissioning support services in China.
The Liuhua 16-2 Oilfields Development Project is a joint oilfield development project, covering the Liuhua 16-2, 20-2 and 21-2 fields located offshore China in the South China Sea, at water depths ranging from 380 to 430 meters.
