Petrobras started today (14/11), through platform P-68, the production of oil and natural gas from the Berbigao field, in the Santos Basin pre-salt.

P-68 is the fourth unit to come into operation in 2019, after P-67 in the Lula field, and P-76 and P-77 in the Buzios field, in line with the Business and Management Plan of the Petrobras.

With a capacity to process up to 150,000 barrels of oil daily and compress up to 6 million m³ of natural gas, the P-68 will contribute to Petrobras' production growth, especially in 2020, with the interconnection of new wells in the Berbigao field. with the interconnection of Sururu field wells.

The FPSO (floating oil and gas production, storage and transfer unit) type platform is located approximately 230 km off the coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro, at a water depth of 2,280 meters. The project foresees the interconnection of ten producing wells and seven injector wells to the P-68. Oil production will be disposed of by relief vessels, while gas production will be effected by the pre-salt pipeline routes.

The Berbigao and Sururu fields are located in concession BM-S-11A, operated by Petrobras (42.5%), in partnership with Shell Brasil Petroleo Ltda. (25%), Total E&P do Brasil Ltda. (22.5%) and Petrogal Brasil SA (10%). The reservoirs of these fields also extend to areas under Onerous Assignment Contract (100% Petrobras) and, after the unitization process, will constitute the shared deposits of Berbigao and Sururu.
