Source: 12/19/2019, Location: Africa

The national hydrocarbon company SONATRACH and the French energy group ENGIE have concluded medium-long term agreements relating to the sale and purchase of liquefied natural gas DES and gas by pipeline.

The parties represented respectively by Mr. Ahmed MAZIGHI Vice-President of SONATRACH in charge of the Marketing Activity and Mr. Edouard NEVIASKI, Business Unit Director Global Energy Management, signed the agreements in the presence of Mr. Kamel Eddine CHIKHI, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SONATRACH and of Mr. Pierre CHAREYRE Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the ENGIE group.

Through these agreements, the two parties confirm and consolidate the long-term partnership. SONATRACH will deliver volumes of natural gas in the form of gaseous gas entering the Transmediterranean gas pipeline, as well as liquefied natural gas (LNG), in particular at the LNG terminal at Fos Tonkin, located in France.

These agreements will make it possible to secure an outlet for Algerian gas on its natural market, which is in the current context of increased competition between the various sources of supply, one of the most profitable markets.
